Oak Forest Aussies is a small hobby show/breeding kennel founded by Luke Moorman and Angela Hackworth in January 2020.

 

Luke's love for Australian Shepherds started when he was a small child, as his parents and grandparents bred and raised them. He is a previous co-owner of Brush Creek Aussies, which disbanded in 2019. He retained Nelli, Crickett, Moana, and Ruger from that kennel. Ruger has since moved on to a new home. He has owned some amazing and beautiful dogs over the years, including the current females Nelli, Crickett, Moana, and Nova. Luke's focus is on conformation showing with the dogs.
 

Angie's love for Australian Shepherds started in 2017 when she brought home her family pet, Baelea. Since then, she has been learning more about the breed and has started working with the dogs and the local kennel club to start agility, rally and obedience competitions. She traveled with Luke to pick up Nova in Wyoming in November 2020, to Texas to pick up Rumble in January 2022 and to Missouri to pick up Arlo in March 2022.

We are very family oriented and believe that your dogs are a very special part of your family. We raise our dogs and puppies around our 10 year old son, 6 year old daughter and 1 year old daughter. Every puppy has been handled by our children, with supervision, in order to be socialized in a family setting. We are also licensed foster parents with the state of Oklahoma so our dogs are exposed to different children of all ages and backgrounds. We know how healing the love of an animal can be and our dogs spread that love to every child in our home. 

Our program is small in order to devote exceptional time to each of the dogs. Our goals are to breed high quality, well rounded Australian Shepherds that fit the breed standard. Health, structure, and temperament are all key points in protecting and preserving the breed. This also includes genetic health screening, OFA testing, and routine health check ups. Every puppy we breed is and will be carefully placed in a loving and responsible home where they can strive to be the top performer, show dog, or companion that every Aussies should be!
